TechEd North American 2011, Atlanta, GA – Messageware (http://www.messageware.com), the world’s leading provider of enterprise security, productivity and customization solutions for Microsoft Office Outlook Web App and Outlook Web Access (OWA), today announced they are presenting two new OWA add-on solutions to the Microsoft messaging community this week at TechEd 2011 in Atlanta, both of which are designed to maximize a business’s investment in Exchange 2010. Messageware OWA Desktop, the first ever desktop client for OWA is being released at the show, while Messageware OWA Guard endpoint security software enters Beta.

“The trend towards thinner clients, reduced cost of ownership, and the advent of Exchange in the Cloud (Office 365) is causing many businesses to increase their adoption and use of Outlook Web App,” said Mark Rotman, President & CEO of Messageware. “Our solutions are ideal for companies that can leverage OWA, providing both enhanced security, as well as an easy-to-use desktop-like experience.”

Following a successful beta that included over 100 companies representing one million users worldwide, Messageware OWA Desktop for Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web App 2010 and Outlook Web Access 2007 is now available. For the first time, the solution brings OWA webmail functionality to the user’s desktop, mirroring the desktop Outlook experience, but with the added benefit of a thin client. The user no longer needs to log-on every time they would like to view or send a message, or access their calendar. New mail and appointment alerts are provided to the user in real time. Not only does OWA Desktop bring OWA features to the user, but it goes a step further by providing time-saving features not found in native desktop Outlook. Key features include:

  • Instant Outlook-like access to OWA
  • Single click access to OWA inbox and calendar
  • Compose emails, appointments and tasks in one click
  • Personal dashboard for real-time viewing of unread emails, calendar reminders, and active tasks
  • Advanced new mail and reminder notifications
  • Easily manage multiple OWA email accounts
  • Import and export personal contacts
  • Import religious, corporate and national holidays
  • Automatic setup of one or many email accounts

“Messageware’s OWA Desktop gets us as close to the full Outlook client experience as we have seen,” said Sean Hook, System Administrator for Plex Systems, Inc., creators of cloud-based ERP manufacturing software. “The new email notifications, reminders, and Unread Message views help keep us informed without the weight of the Microsoft Outlook client. We strive for a zero footprint install with our clients, and the OWA Desktop allows us to offer a solution that meets most users’ needs without having to install Outlook. It gives us the power and access of the Microsoft Outlook Web App right from the system tray; remaining connected without yet another window helps us be more efficient.”

Live demonstrations of both solutions are now being conducted at TechEd North America 2011 in booth #1737 through May 19, 2011. For more information, visit www.messageware.com.
